This is our go-to place every time we come do to the DMV, after checking into the Hilton around the corner, we hit the Chick-fil-A for lunch before hitting the mall. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. For a New Yorker tired of the fast food choices and not wanting to spend $$$ at a restaurant, Chick-fil-A hits the spot. They serve the best shakes/desserts of all of the chains as well. Apart from the religious-political controversy, I wish there were Chick-fil-A restaurants in NYC.

Assuming this is the downtown Silver Spring location. Only the second Chick Fil A experience. The other was someone in Maryland between DC and Baltimore. Honestly think the other was better. This one was super busy and just meh! Glad to know one is around if I ever get a craving though.

Got really good services and awesome food. The sauces were just amazing especially if you massage some onto your tendered chicken sandwich. Def do the set number 3 if you are a fan with spicy foods.

I'm a fan of Chick-fil-a and I actually hate fast food. I've tried the following and enjoyed: spicy chicken sandwich and the salads. Minus the Mexican one. That one was just weird. I am not a fan of their chicken nuggets and fries though. I would expect more from a chicken place. The nuggets are just pitiful, just pass on them. The fries don't have any flavor unless you dip them in a sauce. Womp. Service is always great at a Chick-fil-a, but this location lacks it. No one walks around helping customers and it just had a "order and get out" vibe to it. What happened to the friendly service I'm used to?!

Why are Chick-fil-a workers so much better than those at any other fast food restaurants? I mean, as far as fast joints are concerned, this chick fil a deserves solid five stars (obviously it's not the same as five stars I'd give to a Michelin star restaurant. It's all about the context!) All the workers are friendly, efficient and polite. The place is clean for a fast food restaurant. The manager(?) even goes around from table to table to see if everything is alright. The deluxe sandwich with pepper jack cheese is delish. Seriously, McDonalds's and Wendy's should learn from them.

Friendliest Chick-fil-A on the planet! Everyone here is super nice and you can tell it starts with the management team. I won't get a chicken biscuit anywhere else!

Today I went to chick-fil-a for a spicy chicken deluxe. What I did not realize is that these sandwiches now include a weevil with your lettuce. Pretty gross, but I know it happens everywhere from time to time. However, what annoyed me most was the two free meal tickets I was given in consolation that stipulate it had to be at the same location and by the 31st of this month. Sorry, you don't grossly screw up and then force me to eat at your establishment again as a remediation. (no manager spoke to me either, just sent an associate to give me the cards) Will not eat at this location ever again.

Several good things about this place: 1. The market salad grill is yummy with fruits and grilled chicken. Only 200 calories - ideal for dieters! 2. The waffle fries are so nice. We strongly recommend the Chick-fil-A sauce. 3. The staff there are really friendly. They call your name to when the meal is ready, and the manager walks around to check everyone is okay. You can even find real fresh flowers decorated on the table. Highly recommend this place. Much more than what you can expect from a fast-food restaurant!

All in all, this is a pretty good Chick-fil-A. It's conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring, which is always a plus, especially for a chain restaurant since a lot of times, the chains tend to stay out in the suburbs where they're not as accessible. Inside, I've never had a bad experience with the employees. On the contrary, the cashiers are always friendly, and the managers walk around, per the Chick-fil-A norm, and often offer to help get you a drink refill or take some of your trash. And of course, I would be remiss to not mention the food! The chicken sandwiches are always PIPING hot - in fact, there are many times that I have actually had to wait a little bit to start eating because they were SO fresh and hot! Delicious. Their pickles are always actually decently-sized too, unlike a few locations I've been too. Sometimes the waits can be long during rush periods, but other than that, it's a pretty great location.

Great service, low prices, efficient serving system, generous coupons, really bland food-- except for the real ice cream milkshakes. Much better to wait until you're home to cook something healthy and tasty. Of course, if you're starving or you don't know how to or hate cooking, settle for this. Looks like I did. Oops.

  • Jess Y.

I mean, it's Chick-fil-A, how much can I really say about the food? Everyone knows what to expect. It's good-- Duh! My only disappointment with this location is that they run out of breakfast before breakfast is over. On multiple occasions! It's kind of unacceptable to "run out" of something.. How does that even happen at a fast food place?

  • Lena W.

This is probably my favorite Chick-fil-A location. The associates are incredibly friendly, even though this is a perpetually busy location. The dining area is always very clean, as is the bathroom. Your food order comes out pretty quickly and they bring it out to you, which I love.

Being how loyal I am to Chick-fila, it pains me to have to give them only two stars. This is the closest one near my house and I always give it another chance hoping the next time things will get better. 1) The amount of loud teens who aren't even dining and causing an unpleasant experience is outrages. 2.) The food 85% of the times seems to be cold or undercooked. 3.) Knowing the standards of chickfila as I have traveled all over the country to other locations, the level of professionalism by employee and management is not up to par.

There's some places that you just automatically think, YEP I'm gonna give em 5 stars. Welp, this is my first time reviewing a CFA and honestly, though they didn't get 5 stars from me, It wasn't from a lack of trying. This is the downtown Silver Spring location on Ellsworth and I think location contributed to my 4 star rating. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon early and it was like Jesus came back and was doing Q & A in the first booth. There were dozens, DOZENS of ppl in line and at the counter, and nowhere to really sit, annnnd just chaos and crayons and kids and mittens EVERYWHERE! lol SIGH...the employees looked frazzled which is unusual for a CFA so I really felt bad for them because I know they were trying to keep that perky persona attached to this chain while hustling. I ordered my standard #5 (the 8 count) with a sweet tea once I FINALLY got through that ridiculous line out the door. I usually grade harshly for a wait and cleanliness, but in this instance, I give them 4 stars for doing the best they could to be spirited & sanitary amongst the chaos. The young lady who took my order forgot to say the signature "MY PLEASURE" that we all secretly love to hear, but the manager who handed me my food picked up her slack, so its all good. I stalked a table so I got a seat rather quickly, and the food was, as always, delicious...DUH! I think on a week day this CFA is probably a great one because their teamwork during that crazy lunch rush was DEFINITELY making the dream work. Good job!

Worst Chick-fil-A ever. Slooooooo.....oooooo...oooooo...ooooo....wwww. Plus, my order was completely wrong. Never had an experience like this at one of their restaurants. Definitely won't be going back this location. Cramped and crowded too. Just all around BAD.

  • D B.

I had chick-fil-A for the first it was ok I don't really see the the hipe was about the I had the spice chicken with cheese it was ok the milk shake was good. But I would not put this on my list to eat again

  • Nomin D.

Everyone knows their chicken is AMAZING! Service was efficient and restaurant was kept clean and organized. However, THEY WERE OUT OF ICE CREAM! I couldn't get my strawberry shake! I was very disappointed! You would think that they'll keep good inventory of their ice creams? No! Next time!!

  • Chris S.

This has got to be the slowest Chik Fil A on the planet. For a chain that prides itself on fast and courteous service, this branch is falling a little behind in the speed category. Lots of employees standing in the back while just one open register and a good number of customers standing in line. Fortunately, the food quality is consistent. It was a toss up between this location and another chain in the neighborhood. I think next time I will weigh my options a little more.

  • DJ H.

Not much really I can say negative about this place. Fast and friendly service and pretty much everything on their menu is good. Love the waffle fries and chicken nuggets with the chick fil a sauce. #Winning. If you ever need a quick bite before or after the movie, chick fil a will not disappoint.

    (5)
  • Nate L.

It's Chick-fil-A. The service is friendly, the food is delicious, and they never complain when someone asks for six or more Chick-fil-A Sauce packets for one meal, which I may or may not do. Plus, their countertops at the windows offer some truly fantastic people watching (sorry, obnoxious/screaming/hormonal teenagers who frequent downtown Silver Spring, you are not nearly as cool as you think you are). The only problem I have with the place is that the employees need to do a better job of cleaning up tables when it's busy. And boy, does it get busy.

    (4)
  • Tre G.

I have been a lot of chick fil as. This is one of the worst run. Slow service. Messed up orders. Nice kids, but no excuses as most of these places are run by kids. They need to step it up.

  • K. G.

I don't eat fast food often but I always enjoy myself here. From the friendly staff to the great food. It's kind of hard not to like a place where they say, "My pleasure." Especially when compared to the throng of other DMV fast food places that make you feel unwanted or ashamed to eat there; this place is bright, happy, and welcoming!

    (5)
  • Rachel W.

It's chick fil a. What else could you ask for. I know, how about quality service. There's no way you can mess up their food but as far as service is concerned this location sucks. I ordered a chicken sandwich meal for here and waited 14 minutes while others were served. Lex, the gent that took my order, disappeared after he said "I'll bring your meal to you." Fail sir. Major fail. I had to ask for my meal. I went to get ketchup and all the packets were gross and sticky with another sauce packet. Disappointed to say the least.

    (2)
  • Jeff R.

I've eaten their sandwiches, which are ok. However, this company, like some others (Papa John's comes to mind) has chosen to put their products into politics, in the case of Chi Fil Et, as anti gay. We have choices when it comes to our spending. I choose to get fast food chicken sandwiches elsewhere, and ask you to consider whether the marginal advantage this sandwich has over others is worth supporting homophboics.

Seriously . . . 4 stars? I shudder to think what your restaurant experiences include for this place to rate 4 stars!!! The waffle fries are fun to look at but taste blah and the spices on the chicken strips are unusually unappealing. A few bites of each and off to the trash can we go, not wasting a junk food splurge on this stuff!

  • Deya M.

Good and fast service ! No complaints! Great customer service and friendly staff! Food is always hot and ready!

Not nice to minorities. Shame they are like this. So many locations. So much good they could do.

  • Kristin M.

The manager (or shift manager?) flipped out on a couple kids from the Human Rights Campaign who were fundraising/info-giving too close to his store, apparently. That was pretty unpleasant, whether or not you're an HRC fan. Their chicken nuggets may edge out McD's fried ovals of "pink slime," but that's an awfully low standard, especially when there's a billion other options within a block. This place leaves a bad taste in my mouth in more ways than one.

  • Tom T.

It's Chick-fil-A and it's delicious. You can expect good service at this location. It is also prime-located near the Regal Cinemas 20 and other Silver Spring shopping. It is my go-to fast food when I go see a movie downtown. Great value, taste and service for about $6/meal. They have a kid's night and they are generous with sauces and condiments (some places aren't anymore) The bathrooms are clean and the staff is smiling and upbeat most of the time.

  • Lorena B.

I normally wouldn't write a review for fast food because we all know what to expect- greasy, salty, fattening food that tastes oh-so-good. Chik-fil-a stands out for its service. I am dumbfounded at how they continously find people that provide fast food service with a genuine smile. It's like beng at Nordstrom but with chicken! Is it possible to be in love with a sandwich? I say yes because I want to marry the spicy chicken sandwich! I love that it actually has some heat to it and it's so crisp and juicy. Waffle fries are yummy and Chik-fil-a has something that A LOT of fast food places don't-- Cherry Coke!!! And free refills!!! I was going to give them 4 stars but decided to give this location the 5th star just for being across from the movies, which allows me to sneak in their food. Thanks for saving me from movie dogs and $5 sodas!

  • Terinee B.

Good Food, Fast Service w/a smile!!! They never disappoint! I had the chicken/egg/cheese biscuit this morning and it was just as great as the last time! As long as I can find a decent parking spot, this will remain one of my quick breakfast morning favs!

How did one man turn a tiny eatery in Hapeville, Georgia into a chain of nearly 1,250 restaurants with annual sales of over two billion dollars almost sixty years later? Hard work, fairness, honesty, loyalty and respect, that's how! (I read S. Truett Cathy's biography.) The Cathy family must be doing something right. One of those things is that ALL Chick-fil-As across the country are always closed on Sundays. It was Truett Cathy's belief that all employees should have time to spend with their families, friends and worship if they choose. (He is obviously Christian.) That being said, I, who calls herself a veggie, does occasional eat chicken. (I prefer not to eat mammals, but I don't know if there is a name for that.) Chick-fil-A has awesome chicken strips and nuggets. That is all I can comment on, except that I'm not a fan of their waffle fries. Everyone I know loves their chicken. Their tender strip 4 pack is only $2.79; cheaper than McX, which only serves you three to a pack. This location is in the heart of Silver Spring. It is a welcome fast food chain if you want my opinion.

Always busy because the people who work here are friendly and work hard. The food is always good and manager's are out front making sure every customer is acknowledged and helped as quickly as possible.

well, there's not as much hate aftertaste in Chick-fil-A's processed chicken foodstuffs now, but there's still a whole bunch of sodium and steroids. a one star bump for getting out of politics and interfering with how grown adults choose to live their lives.

  • Kapri J.

Unfortunately we missed the family show but this chick fil a sets the bar! While being in Silver Spring, it does not have a kids place but the staff here entertained the kids so well that they remained oblivious to the fact. You can never go wrong with the spicy chicken deluxe sandwich!!

  • Maya B.

"When the vegetarian eats the chicken...you know it's good." That pretty much sums up my feelings on Chick-fil-A. I was practically dragged here by a friend from Georgia (the home of Chick-fil-A) and informed it was, BY FAR, the BEST fast food joint around. I heard praise about the chicken nuggets and prose about the peach milkshakes. I thus had very high expectations upon walking into my first Chick-fil-A. I noticed the little flowers the put out on every table and the friendly staff who walk around and check to make sure everyone is happily enjoying their choice of chicken (sandwich, nuggets, strips....). Being the on-and-off vegetarian that I am, I of course opted for the chicken nugget meal (delicious nuggets that actually resemble chicken), complete with cole slaw (yummy but average), waffle fries (can never go wrong with these) and an upgrade to the peach milkshake (A...MAZING). I tried every single sauce they offered but somehow missed the BBQ (polynesian, honey mustard, Chick-fil-A sauce (like a BBQ meets Ketchup meets Honey Mustard-just do it), buttermilk ranch, and buffalo sauce. I was in heaven and that's all you need to know.

hello chick-fil-a. how come i just discovered you now? where have you been the past 25 years of my life? i sincerely love you. ok anyways, went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. told the lady in the cashier it was my first time there and i didn't know what to order, but i decided to go with the original? chicken sandwich. and she said ok!! and gave me the chick-fil-a sauce and told me to try it with it. AS I WAS ENJOYING MY MEAL..................................... this homeless man came in and sat right next to me and was devouring his meal and honestly.. i was kind of disgusted because no offense but it smelled and the way he was eating his meal kind of.. made me ruin my appetite. so i couldn't finish my meal. as i was leaving the homeless man said to me, "excuse me, do you mind if i take your fries if you're going to throw it out?" i said yeah sure and when i was about to give him the fries, he just decided to sweep it off my tray. yeah.. so i won't be eating there anymore i'll probably take it to go. but BESIDES THAT. WHAT GREAT FOOD YOU GUYS HAVE!!!

  • Kat L.

I love chick fil a, but this location can be a little shady. When youre young and youre going to hang out, fast food places seem to be the spot of choice. There seems to be some overzealous enforcement here. Kids are just being kids. Laughing, having a good time, not bothering anything or anyone. Heck, they've even ordered food (yea just fries but so what they are patrons too!) so mr security guard, let them be. The staff here is super friendly, and the line moves quick. If you bring your movie stub, get a soda and fries, you get a free sandwich. :) yup.

.BEST. .FAST FOOD CHAIN. EVAAARRR. I sometimes cry on Sundays when I realize it's not open. Also, the bfast chick-n-minis are little chicken biscuits sent from heaven.

  • Michael B.

The chicken sandwiches at various locations can vary, but this is one of the few I've been to that every single time has been top quality. Many locations, you go in when it's not a peak hour, and the sandwiches are lukewarm, rubbery, and have obviously been sitting there for a while. Not here. The chicken sandwiches here are always piping hot, juicy and tender, and generously breaded. (Can't stand the locations that are miserly with the breading.) It's a breaded breast of chicken fried in peanut oil. It's friggin' delicious. But even better is the fact that there are ALWAYS enough cashiers working, and every single one of them is courteous. That is a rarity anywhere, but it's downright impossible to find in Silver Spring, where most stores/restaurants feature associates who seem annoyed that they find themselves forced to serve you. I've also always been able to grab a seat at this location, though it can get pretty crowded during rush hours. One minor qualm is that the line out the door was not well-thought-out. There's really no way to corral people properly, so the line inevitably extends out onto the sidewalk, even if there's not that many people in it, and it moves quickly.

  • Nardos B.

Right before they were actually suppose to close an employee and his friend closed the door IN MY FACE and said "Go to McDonalds." I've NEVER been so offended in my life! This just confirms that I will never patron there and recommend all my friends never do either. If a restaurant believes it's okay to be rude to its potential customers, that's a place that doesn't deserve to be in business.

    (1)
  • Jane W.

Chick-fil-A, where have you been my whole life?? I came here recently and ordered the original chicken sandwich. It came out in a jiffy and it was delicious! Even though when I arrived the line was out the door, I only waited about 5 minutes before I had my lunch in hand. Kudos to the staff for such a great experience.

    (5)
  • Charina P.

I used to work here, and upon making a visit nearly 1 year later, none of the original employees were working there anymore. Big surprise. Well, on the day I went here, the staff was so dry and just...bored looking, not friendly. Ugh.... But besides that, the food is beyond good. I love the fries, love the strips, love the sandwiches, adore the milkshakes. Ooh! I just love this place. Makes me sad that I have to travel all the way out to Silver Spring to get a taste! The food gets my high rating. If they work on the staff recruiting, I'll surely give it a 5.

Best fast food joint ever!!!!! Always clean, staff is friendly and polite, food is fresh, A+ Promotions are good too, as free give-outs aren't seldom at all. Definitely a top notch place for lunch... did I mention that it's THE place to go if you want (need!) a milkshake? Highest recommendations

Its refreshing to visit a fast food restaurant in Silver Spring that has both friendly service and good food. I'm a believer!

I love Chick-Fil-A food. No problems there. The customer service sucked on this particular day. I wanted a large IceDream cup & ended up with a small cup. The cashier got an attitude & walked away leaving me standing there with no large cup. I went to the manager & he promptly made my large IceDream. I then went online to complaints & within 3 weeks I got 2 coupons for a FREE chicken sandwich. This is great especially when I'm broke & craving some waffle fries! Good job corporate on listening to the customer!!

  • Phu N.

Hey this is fast food so don't expect super great food. I do love the waffle fries though. What impresses me about this place is the service. The employees are so nice and treat you like you are in a 5 star restaurant, with yes sirs and yes mams. Great service, what a novel idea.

    (5)
  • Ina C.

This is the only non-food court Chick-fil-A I've seen, and I love it. Located in the heart of the very eerie, straight-out-of-the-mold downtown Silver Spring, the customer service at this place knocks my socks off. These people are so incredibly friendly, and they give you your order right away. There are plenty of seats. There are a couple of garages around, and also the Whole Foods lot just up the hill.

  • Monica M.

The day I discovered there was a Chick-Fil-A relatively easy to get to for me was one of the happiest days ever. I'd previously only eaten it at Montgomery Mall but seldom got to go there. So, after seeing someone's yelp review, I decided to go and get my favorite nuggets and waffle fries. The place was clean and friendly. The chicken was nice and juicy and the waffle fries were awesome. Near the end of my meal, one of the employees was walking around asking customers if they needed anything and asking how their service was and even removed some trays for customers who had already finished and were just talking. When he stopped by my table, he offered a refill of my drink as well without me having to go to the counter to ask for it! I was happy. Great customer service on top of great food.

  • C. I. M.

Been hooked since their opening. I got those get a free meal cards for a year for waiting all hours of the night before the grand opening. Well....I didn't actually wait, my mom, brother and sister did. I was in high school, meaning I was broke all the time and hungry. Chick-Fil-A hit the spot after school with friends. The classic chicken sandwich seems plain at first sight. Only comes with a couple of pickles on top but its pretty damn good. McDonald's now has their own version, the southern style chicken sandwich and man does it suck. As soon as I bit into it, I looked at the chicken and it looked like Styrofoam or paper mache (sp?) mix, gross!

  • Audrey M.

This place made my whole day!! I love love love chik- fil- a, and the fact that there are none in dc makes me sad. this one is tucked away behind a sub par mall, and so in four years of living in the district i just discovered it. Clean, friendly staff, and a delicious chik-fil-a, this is certainly one of the better examples of this super yummy chicken-based chain. I will definitely be EET-ing MOR CHIKIN in the future!

  • Brian R.

I'm not entirely sure about the values of this company (I heard that they support James Dobson's Focus on the Family), but their chicken sandwich is good. They should let you have refills on your soda at this location, though.
